Art Nouveau
|
Art Nouveau is a style of the applied and the fine arts. The typical characteristics of the Art Nouveau are, on the one hand, those long and brandishing lines, which imitate the organic forms of plants and, on the other hand, also aerial-linear geometric ornaments with a tendency to the asymmetric, noble and often exotic materials in perfect handcraft treatment and a strong tendency to the artistic and elitist. One of the main concerns of Art Nouveau was the abolishment of the separation between art and life as well as of the separation between the artistic disciplines. As a consequence, many Art Nouveau artists were active in several fields.
